We had a great Christmas! I was a little bummed that Gabby wasn't more into ripping into gift after gift. She didn't even open a single gift without major coaxing and "help." We had fun assembling and wrapping the night before as a start of a new tradition??? Ha!
Gabby was a riot most of the day just trying to keep up with what was going on. I think next
 year we may have to only do one family? It was a long day for her with no nap! {YIKES}
She got so many toys and the one thing she loves is the pink and purple car that I have to push!!  She wants me to push her in this from morning til night! Needless to say I park/hide it in her bathroom 90% of the time.
We have had these random sunglasses forever.  She found them one day and wore them non stop on her barbie 4 wheeler. Posing it up just like Mary-kate or possible Nicole Richie?? I was the paparazzi I suppose...

I also got a new do'! Well, its not too crazy but different for my recent look. You can't really tell from the self taken shot but it is tons lighter. I put light brown highlights throughout my WHOLE head. What an ordeal! And I was introduced to a whole new way to style my hair. Love it! My new friends Body and Volume RULE!!! (it looks kinda red in this pic, its not)

So annoying

Me and Shaun keep doing this LAME reaction email game. You try to shoot the sheep with the arrow to see how quickly your reaction time is. We both can't get any faster than "bobbing bobcat" Ewww! Like I sit here and play this during my free time!
check it out if you think you'd be any good.

I'm having a holiday blog break for now.  I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

A penny for my thoughts

Since my favorite posts of all time are other peoples random thoughts posts, I thought I'd share some stuff tonight (since Grey's in still NOT on!)

fitting jeans: not TONS of money, but still a lot (about $150): AG jeans. SUPER comfortable, with 5% stretch {poly-some-thing-or-other}
bottled water: Winder Dairy! It is actually mineral water so it puts back all those vital trace minerals that are lost when we sweat. Plus you don't have to push your heavy cart with all your might through costco.
car seat: Britax Decathelon/marathon
yoga/workout pants:Victorias secret roll band yoga pants
online shoe store: ZAPPOS!!!!
Gum: Wrigleys supermint? Freshmint? whatever, it's their newest flav
celeb gossip as of now: Jessica Alba pregers!
song of the moment (workout tempo) Britney Spears, "piece of me". I know she is terrible, I just can't help but love this song.
makeup, foundation: Jane Irridale (spell??) the best coverage in mineral powder form. Love this stuff!!

I know this is a lame post, just thought i'd share some goodies. Tell me your faves that I may not yet be aware of

For you lace! (well, "gabby's" tree)

So last year I didn't put up my Christmas tree due to the low clearance ceiling I was dealing with. So, Again this year, no tree. Until, my sister started giving me a little bit of a hard time cuz Gabby's getting older and loves Christmas lights. I caved and bought a little puke of a tree. It is just a little guy but cute for sure. It's a 5' charlie brown style I picked up at Tai Pan for $19!! Wahoo.
So, better {really} late than never!  I guess if you wanna see my real Christmas tree head on down to Newby Buick. That is it's foster family for the second year now:)

Best Idea!!!!

I'm sure I'm like the last mom on earth that thought of this but, JIC there are some of you out there that don't already do this....
I went to get my car washed yesterday at St George Car wash on Bluff. I go there cuz they are fast and do a great job. Gabby's car seat was Gaspingly, hideously dirty so I asked them if they have ever shampoo'd a car seat? Oh yeah, no problem. They will totally "detail" your car seat for the price of shampooing your mats!!! I thought of myself as genius for asking.
When they were finished they totally put plastic around it and poke holes in it so your seat belt straps come on though and your little tot doesn't get all wet!!!!
GENIUS! (For any of you who have a Britax you know it is a royal pain to take it out and take it apart to throw it in the washer).

WANTED: your address

Just getting ready to send out my cards and I don't have your address :(
Nichole -your new one please;)

aaaahh choooo!

I am sitting here blogging {duh} just waiting for Gabby to fall asleep.....Hmm, been here an hour now and she is still jabbering away. saying these things: Me Mom, Me mom, Me mom. Daddy? Daddy? NO!, NO!, Shoes, oh wow, and my personal favorite, ahhh chooo! The fake sneeze taught to her by my mom is her favorite thing to do. I love hearing her in her room talking to herself having a double sided conversation? Who is she talking to? Elmo is my guess.

Enjoying the holidays

I have to admit this is the first Christmas EVER that I have felt a little relaxed. I'm positive it is because I managed to have all of my Christmas shopping done!! Wahoo. With the exception of a few little onliners still left to order I'm all done!!! It feels so good to concentrate on what is important. I think i'll make it a yearly goal to at least be done by the 1st of Dec.
It really helped that we went as sisters and did all of our shopping together. We had such a great time together as usual being total idiots and eating as often as possible. I just wanted to tell all my sisters how much I love and appreciate you guys!

No shame

I know, these are terrifying. But it is so hilarious to see yourself this way sometimes!! Yep, hanging out by myself, in my nightgown (yea, grandma style one piecer= HOTTIE) playing on photo booth.
What a Friday night! My husband is sick as a dog holed up in the theater room. He's been there forevvveeerrrrrr. Poor guy had the flu and now a sinus infection. YUCK. I am keeping my distance for a bit.
I am SO excited that I get to go to Vegas tomorrow with my off the hook sisters! Wahoo. I have missed my city that is home away from home :). Christmas shopping will actually be fun this year. Why? because it will be spent with my best bud sisters and most likely include a delish-i-oso meal at the Cheese Cake FAcTory!!!! { Ah, HEAVEN}. For all ya'll who haven't tried there lettuce wraps, do so! You won't be disappointed!

Subject in left field: I have been listening to old school smashing pumpkins lately. I used to write the little SP heart symbol all over my notebooks in junior high. For some unknown reason I thought I was cool. That same year I wore birkenstocks WITH SOCKS (gasp). Or Dr. Martens. I also wore cover girl powder in like 5 shades to light for me, lip gloss that made me look hypothermic, and I curled my 'bangs' with a 2" curling iron....Do they still sell those!?
This was also a time when I could HALF an entire loaf of french bread and guiltlessly (or so I thought) dip a wadded up chunk of break into ranch dressing (im dry heaving as I type, and i'm pretty embarrassed at this point too) in between swips (something between a swig and sip) of Dr. pepper. Right after I finished that little meal I'd go ahead and tear open my butterfinger for the day for the walk back to DMS-through the dusty trail. All that lunch for just around $2 dollars each....and possibly just over 2,000 calories! Haha.

My bff and I also used to listen to, wait for it.... Tracy Chapman (sp?) in her car after lunch. We always had tons of extra time. So we would crank it up and sing along.....I now realize that tons of people probably heard how LAME we were and the bonus here is that we thought we had great voices.

Pretty much every Fri. night bff slept at my house and we would come home late from whatever we did and set ourselves up a candlelit dinner for 2...oh yeah!  We would then pop 2 Schwan's man pepperoni pizzas into the oven and pour ourselves some OJ.  After scarfing down all the food (each pizza totaled 33g. of fat!!!!) we would head off to bed and fall asleep listening to Brandy.

My point to all this? Music can bring back about a million memories stored in my (our) internal hard drive that I had forgotten all about.
Some of my fondest memories are pretty much centered around PIGGING out. Sad!

A weAk in review

We had a great Thanksgiving. That's about all I have to say on that since it was over a week ago now.
Gabby has been sick all week with an ear infection (her first ever). It has pretty much sucked bad. Shaun had business in Mexico this week as well so I have been feeling a little bit overwhelmed. He is home, Gabby is getting better, and so I'm happy!
I just thought I'd do a post to put up some of the million pics we took of Gabby on TG day. She was RIPPING through the church, yes, I said church. Pretty much having the time of her life there!
On a different note: You all must run out and Buy Sally Hansen's 10 day NO chip nail color (in tough buff). It rules. They have some great colors too. Good buy!
In other happenings, Gabby now insists on wearing all my necklaces. Just the ones that are long and pitty. She'll leave them on for hours while we are up town. She also loves her purse. It is crazy to see how much she has changed just over the last 3 months. I swear she is 2 years old already.
I bought Gab this Elmo late one night with bri at Wally's. Major hit! It was supposed to be a Christmas gift for her but she spotted him and screamed until I gave in. She takes him all over the house, in her crib at night and to watch tv wherever that might be. She is hilarious these days! She will give Elmo aka, "Melmo" a huge kiss and then bite his eye or nose!! I love this little woman!
Sorry about the grammar and total chaos of my thoughts, I was in a hurry!

mother load post

I will just start with an advisory note of caution: This post will be a steam blower and many aimlessly wondering thoughts.
We were no longer able to avoid it. Yep, that day when the bishop calls and asks how you're doing and then says, Dun dun dun..... "Will you be able to speak in church Sunday?" Of course you can't say no so I foolishly replied, "you know it!" as if I was excited about it. {Yikes} end of topic.

Next please: Have you all heard of Melissa and Doug toys? SOO stinkin cute! has this pizza set(s) I saw today at a friends house with my sis. the cutest toys you've ever seen! There is also a sushi, birthday cake, and sandwich making one. Gab is too young but check em out if your kids are about 2 and up. She'll for sure be getting them for her next b day.

Another note: Yoga class, Tue. and Thurs. Nights @ 6:30 2$ @ the REC center!!!! Awesome teacher and killer workout. My legs are still shaking. See you there!

Transitioning here: I don't know what to get Gabby for christmas. If anyone has any age appropriate FUN (being the key word here) toys for an 18 mo. old I'd love some ideas. I hate buying waste-a-spacers that just clutter my house.

The Bachelor: What the Crap was that? GAY. Nuff said.
I'll be watching the run-down on his decision tonight fo sheezy my gizzy's

Good steal(s): So I already told Nichole I'd give her my cute pottery barn drapes for her little girls nursery. BUT, I have some Javis Davis crib bedding that is about an 8.5 on the cuteness scale in my book that I'd be willing to really sell for dirt cheap. I will post a pic to see if it is anything that you pregnant (with girls) friends of mine would be interested in. email me if you are. javis davis stuff in not cheap. It's custom made when you chose your fabrics. (sorry, I had no close up pic saved on my comp)

Something to try on for size: SPANX!!!!! Have any of you ever tried on or should I say Squeezed your self lifelessly into a pair of spanx?  I'm sure Im the only one with a baby hammock for a stomach {lose skin-oozing gut if you will}.  I bought these pantyhose, i hate that word, at Nordstroms last weekend. Can I just say, I went to church last Sunday 2 dress sizes smaller? While still able to breath! They are the Shizniz!!  They make slips, full pantyhose, and my fave, legging style. Well, there are a billion styles actually. Great purchase for about $20. I didn't say they were cheap, just money well spent.

Put this in your tummy: quaker natural granola cereal (the middle box pictured) prepared HOT as directed on back of box WITH cinnamon and a dab or 2 of applesauce.  SO delish!!!

Time for a new post....

Even if most of the family picture session WAS a disaster (in my mind) we managed to get some really fun pictures that totally captured what having Gabby in our lives is like. I love this picture because shaun and I were laughing hysterically trying to make it look like it was effortless for me to swing Gabs using ONE hand rather than both. I felt like I was gonna drop her. I just love the feeling I get when I look at this picture.
I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!
I love having my own little family! I imagine the good times ahead and just smile!

Last, I had to compile a disc for our Christmas employee party so I was going through all of our pictures.....This one is for Nichole, or anyone else that is pregnant right now who would ever DARE to complain about being large. I think I take the cake on biggest belly while prego. It's absolutely obscene!!!

Tagged, again....

Thanks Mel, for thinking I might be interesting :)

1. I am almost obsessed with cooking strictly healthy foods only! Especially when it comes to gabby. She does not even like sugar anything! Ice cream? nope! Cake? nope! Shaun says I've ruined her childhood. By what, not rotting her teeth and stunting her growth? You decide. I add, purees, veggies, fruit and/or whole wheat to EVERYTHING!

2. I love to shop but have a REALLY hard time buying purses. I love them, but they have to be practical, have the right handle length, fit on my shoulder and against my body just right, and be a color that matches brown, black, and navy.....See the problem?

3. I ALWAYS wear black and brown together!!! (GASP) I know, It is supposed to clash. But, I only mix the 'red' browns with black. I just love it!! It always used to bother me if I saw girls at school wearing black shoes or belts with navy blue clothes, but I can wear black and brown together? Who knows why!!!

4. I like to be trendy but not overly. I would hate to be the girl that dresses so 2 years ago. I can leave the house with no makeup and sweats yet when I'm dressed up I have to be pretty much planned out from head to toe if it's a date night. My philosophy is this: if I'm not gonna get ready, I put NO effort into it so its really obvious! That way no one thinks I look like crap on accident.

5. I HATE my hair! I always have despised my stupid, fine, thin, grey brown/ash, limp lame hair! I wish I had that wonderful wavy, slightly messy, air dried, Milla Jovovich hair!! I also wish I could pull off short looks.

6. Oh, and I am pregnant!!! Okay, not really. Hopefully I will be in the next 2 months though.

Good Grief

Hello hello. We made it through the week! That is how I feel right about now as Gabby is napping and Shaun is working quietly in his office. I am relaxing physically and mentally for what feels like the first time all week.
I thought I'd share a few dOoZiEs from my week. I can't believe I'm supposed to be a responsible mother, wife and adult sometimes.
I rushed out to Costco to "beat the rush" on Fri. morning at 9:15. Well, I beat the rush. There wasn't a single shopper there. Opens at 10! (yep, I waited)
I went all the way into town Thursday afternoon and into the store with my purchases ready for checkout with NO WALLET!!!! Needless to say that was a ginormous waste of time, energy, and gas!!

Oh, incase you didn't know Tai Pan is now open. Beware: Shoppers paradise!!! I won't even go in, but I think you all should :)

Lastly, as I mentioned before, we had our family pictures taken on thurs. If anyone wants to see them feel free. The only catch is, you have to leave me a comment telling me which one I should use for our Christmas card this year.
This is the website for them. You chose Client Gallery and the password is woob (long story).

Advisory note of warning*
a) I don't even want to talk about how retched Gabby's hair is in EVERY picture!! By the time we got there she had pulled it out already and It was an utter disaster!
b) I know my butt does NOT fit into my jeans. I knew they were gettin tight, but WOW! That song "girl, how'd ya get all a that ass in them jeans" is REALLY me!!! Sick!
c) Decent pictures are far and few between for this fam. You all have no idea how bad gabby hates pictures! But I did want you all to notice what a great job Deb did aside from my child's squirmy, unruly behavior.  So, with this all said, I can now exhale!

It took me longer than I wanted it to to finally get these up! It's been a long day for this family. We had family pictures today.....CAPITOL D-SASTER!!!! Deborah took them from Funny face, she is so great, Gabby on the other hand is a nightmare! I stress all day about making sure all of our clothes are ironed and perfectly matching right down to Shauns belt. Not that any of my preparations even pay off.  We'll see if Even the best photographers can get any good pictures of us!!
Back to the point of the post, Gabby loved wearing her costume and mainly just all the attention she was getting from everyone.  She was really into it.  We had a great time with family and had a great meal at Shaun's fams.

This email is hilarious!

Why God Made Moms
Answers given by 2nd grade children to the following questions:

Why did God make Mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make Mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are Mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your Mother & not some other Mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your Mom?
1. My Mom has always been my Mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did Mom need to know about Dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your Mom marry your Dad?
1. My Dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My Grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because Dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between Moms & Dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home & Dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but Moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got
to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your Mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your Mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2... I'd make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

The girl of his dreams?

I talk too much, I'm not the best listener. But I want to be
I always mean really, really well when it comes to being thoughtful, but sometimes fall short
I'm not organized but my closet is usually immaculate and color coordinated
I am definitely not one to hold a grudge
I waste too much time
I faint easily, I don't listen to my body all the time
My car is always a mess and it really bothers me.
I don't drink enough water
I trust people easily
I forget to breath (deep enough)
I usually cant concentrate on two things at once, I'm really flighty
I'm a pretty good speller
I like to try new things
I am not very coordinated
I am witty
I'm a little too selfish
I surely have the ability to laugh at myself
I'm very level headed

These are not my insecurities, just some of the bad and good I realize about myself.
I do have a lot of insecurities but I've found that if you don't point out what you don't like about yourself 'they' will never know you're insecure to begin with. You can still be very confident with insecurities

I think when I wake up each morning the day is just another day on the battle field.  What will I chose to improve? And will I really work toward it, or just tell myself "I want to lose weight, drink more water, be more motivated, accomplish more in a day, stop swearing, etc.
I feel like I lose my battle more often than I win but I think I've made the most important step by admitting I've got some things to work on!

I thank my husband for being Mr. Patient, Mr. mom (sometimes), Mr. wonderful, Mr. bread winner, and Mr. understanding. I will love him forever.

Because sometimes it's just hard to live with a man

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about. For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box.
When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95, 000. He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be married," she said, "my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll." The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. He thought she had only been angry with him twice in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness. "Honey," he said, "that explains the dolls, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?"
"Oh," she said, "that's what I made from selling the dolls."

A Prayer...
Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man; Love to forgive him;And Patience for his moods; Because Lord, if I pray for Strength, I'll beat him to death, because I don't know how to crochet.

Lets just say, she loves it!

I was at the ghetto toy store by gymboree...naturally! When I saw this I knew Gab would love it so I bought it and lugged it out of the store!  I inflates in like 10 seconds and is a snap to put away!! It keeps her entertained for so long. and even longer when she watches a tv show in it. Not that I let her....
If anyone wants to come and play with us, it's a pretty good time! We may not have any grass, but we move the party inside! Rules were made to be broken right? I just had to post that last pic!!

Shoes and Soap

I don't have much for a new post but I did find a great pair of green shoes at Payless (gasp!!) for only $7. The best part was it was BOGO. So Gabby also got a new pair for like $4! I have to admit, I am such a sucker for Payless when it comes to Gabbers. Their shoes fit sooo great and Gabby seems to like them too. I don't know if they hold up well but Gabby outgrows them far too quickly to tell.
PS, Bri, I tried to get you these same pair for your bday. No luck! They were sold out, I even looked on the world wide web!!
I have had my smelly good laundry soap displayed in my house like this for a couple years now. I love it because it makes my laundry room smell good and it looks kinda cute too!  Try it, you'll love it.  I also like to give something like this as a house warming gift.
Have a great weekend! (mine starts tonight) Yippee!

16 Months

Time has seemed to go by faster and faster each month. I am so lucky to have Gabby in my life, she has taught me many things and uncovered so many feelings I may have never experienced without her.
I have so much fun being her mommy!
I took a few pictures for fun the other day and then that night in my class I learned that I should have been using my flash!!! Dang! Who knew?!

Our Favorite activities

One of my favorite things to do is take Gabby to the pet store! yes, Sue's (dirty) pet castle! Gabby could run around in there looking between the giant glass dog displays for hours on end! I'm sure they love us in return..... At least once a week I pull up in the very front parking space, far be it for me to walk any further than needs be! I come waltzing in with my giant camera and toddler who is there to smear the already nasty glass even more! What could be more fun? Gabby beams and yells doggie at least 5,000 times while saying "oh and eww" in between! This is sure to be one of my favorite memories with her at this age and I think the (horrible quality) pics will explain it from the look on her face! My pictures are all just trials from experimenting with the aperture on my camera. I am having a blast learning how to manually work with it! Note* this in only my second venture with my camera on manual mode* My teacher gave us an assignment to take pics with the lowest ap. the middle ap. and the highest to start learning how lighting (in a round-a-bout way) effects the outcome of the pic. SO, with that being said, some of them are really blurry. I wish I would have chose a plant to experiment with.

I also love to take Gab to the mall so I can let her play on the rides, without putting any quarters in them! Like she knows they move. When she gets bored of them, I'll start putting the money in to make a whole new experience.

Dear Blog

Dear Public diary I pretend is private because I'm not divulging personal information to your faces,

Yesterday I hadn't eaten much of really anything all day so around 4:30 I decided I was hungry...I chose to go to Wendy's. I haven't eaten burger/fry type fast food in who knows how long (I don't like anything but In'n'Out) so this was a little strange. I went ahead and pigged out like it was gonna be my last meal ever! It was actually gross too. But, I ate anyway feeling gluttonous when I realized what and how fast the food I ordered disapeared before my very eyes! Shaun was making fun of me calling me a closet eater.

This brings me to my next subject. I picked up a few new books today at costco. One is called Stick Figure. It is written by a girl about her 'former' self, an eleven year old annorexic girl. It is very moving and super compelling. It is so sad and I think everyone should read it to be more aware of how young girls feel in this society and how these feelings of insecurity evolve. It is written so well too. Let me know what you think if anyone has read it. I'll be doing my darndest to ensure that Gabby never feels like she isn't skinny enough or that being thin is directly related to popularity or beauty. I'll be workin overtime in this society!

Another thing that has been on my mind is why I had so many reasons to be all bent out of shape about stupid little things when i was a teenager. My brother Brad once told me to never wish any part of my life away. I never understood why in the world he would say such a thing. I mean surly nothing was worse then being 13, 14 and then 15 oh, and then 16 and so on. There was always some nagging reason I wanted to move on to the next year. Now that I look back I have all these fabulous memories when life was so dang fun and easy and freakin care free. Shaun always teases me about my life growing up. he says that my biggest worries were things like what I'd wear to school the next day, lip gloss selections and my hair. NOT TRUE, but he wasn't too far off. At that age there just isn't a whole lot of real stress for most of us. I wish I would have had a better attitude.

I somehow managed to stay conscious the whole treck on Thurs. morning with my sister as we hiked the whole Snow Canyon State Park! Okay, It was only 4 miles but still! It was so beautiful, I had never been there before. It felt so good to be that close to nature. I am not much of an outdoor gal now that I am married to quite possibly the most high maintinance man there ever was! He won't even entertain the idea of hiking or even going on a Sunday stroll with me for fear of getting dusty and dirty outside! Ugh! You wouldn't believe he works as a general contractor AND makes regular visits to Tijuana for the wood business.

I ramble to clear my head of all my thoughts causing my brain congestion. It makes me wonder when I run into someone who reads my blog if they think I'm really strange. Does anyone else lay in bed at night thinking to themselves in "blog mode".
Every night I pretty much drift off thinking in dear blog mode. What an idiot I must sound like.
Oh well, the secret is out.

Excuse all my misspellings, my spell check doesn't work on my mac. Any ideas why.....EMILY
I also had some fun taking really messed up pictures of myself on the handy photo booth thingy!! I am SOOO hot!

In over my head

Lately at my house I have been having more tiny bedtime issues. I had been putting Gabby to bed between 8 and 8:30. The little stinker kept waking up at 7:00 (when she was used to waking up at 8). I'm not complaining that this is early, she would just be sooo moody and miserable. SOOOOO, I remembered that my little handy dandy sleep sense book said to try putting your child to bed a half hour earlier so they would sleep later.....Hmmm, doesn't make sense does it? Well, 2 days now Gabby has gone to bed at 7:30 and slept til 8:30!! Did I die and go to heaven or is this some kind of mean joke she's playing on me? :)
Love ya Gabs!

Also, I have decided to (abruptly) turn over a new non-lazy leaf for myself since i seemed to be in a major slump lately. So, I took up a walking group with my sister 2 days a week, a biking "beginner" (see Tasha's latest blog:) group, I'm continuing pilates 2 days a week and I went ahead and signed up for photography at the college which starts oh, tomorrow. Hmm, I think I might have dove in the deep end on this new routine.
I have to go for the group walk tomorrow and I'm SO sore from my horrid first bike experience that I don't know how I'll manage to push my stroller up and down those massive hills!! I'm just hoping I stay conscious the whole time! Haha, We'll see how long this little fire of desire stays lit. So far, so good! I even managed to have all my laundry folded and put away while still warm! Thats a first for me!
I made Shaun a gigantic "to do" list which he just laughed at and told me he'd send his Foreman up to tackle those. I guess I'm asking a bit much but hey, it's NOWyears resolution time at mi casa!

I think when I get lazy, I get a tiny bit depressed. It make perfect sense to me though. I think It is my brains way of saying, "hey, your wasting all this time doing nothing (i.e. sitting at the computer) when you could be doing so much around the house). I want my day to have huge list of accomplishments to check off in my day planner which is the bomb! I highly recommend you all go get one at staples. It is by Mead, is small and lightweight for students.

I will be taking lots or pictures for my photography class, I expect to learn a few tricks of the trade :)

Now that I've rambled about nothing and i'm sitting here being lazy......

Interview with the Queen Bee

DOB: JUNE 3, 2006 5:11 pm

My mom warned me from a young age that my girls would probably hate to get their hair done. I didn't think much of it because she would be wrong of course! MY girls would always look perfect with the hair, bracelets, outfits, whatever I wanted how I wanted it......Wow, was my mother ever right. This is my strong willed little girl who actually let me do her hair for 5 minutes the other day! I had to take pictures because her hair is always well, un-kept for the most part. I have to comb it while she is running away from me.
I take pictures on the days I brave the battle of doing the hair. I hope as she gets older it only gets better but my mom is probably going to be right about her. I started "doing" my own hair in first grade. No wonder I my mom always permed my hair (yikes!) My mom knew it would be a fight everyday so she just let me win that battle. Gabby is also currently winning the battle!

Either way, she is the light of my life and I love her no matter how distraught the hair is!

A blast with Gabby!

I'm sure you have all started to wonder if I'd given Gabby up for adoption. I used to do so many posts with pictures of her plastered all over my blog. I haven't taken any pictures for so long for some reason. So, here is my little Gabby, who is getting so big, right before my very eyes!
I want to cry because she is absolutely not a baby anymore!
Tonight was Gabby's cousin Junior's first birthday. It was a water party at the park. My sister-in-law throws partys that put the county fair to shame! She goes all out. There was a train ride, huge blow up water slides, and great food! We had a lot of fun. I didn't let Gabby get wet until the last hour, boy was that a mistake. She had the time of her life!
Shaun would slide her down on her belly and she would laugh hysterically! She loved every minute of being wet!

The music!

This is my best video of Good Charlotte Performing. They did lots of their songs but this one's my favorite. I know my videos suck but hey, it's a taste of the show.

Here is the ever so fabulous Justin singing "my Love" do me a favor and watch the whole thing. It is awesome, even though you can't see in good, you can tell it was amazing! This was the best dancing of the concert. It is kinda long, but hopefully you don't mind!

JT concert!!!!!

What a fun concert!! Wow, can that man dance. Oh, and sing, and play the piano, and rock out on the guitar and beat box (is that what it's even called)! He is simply a talented man! He sang, no lip sync performance here. It was not as entertaining as my man Usher, but Usher doesn't sing. They aren't great pictures because our seats weren't too good but they were much better than we expected. We had so much fun!

blabber mouth

I am so mad right now because I made the cutest video tonight of Gabby laughing at who knows what! She was so hyper about an hour before bed and was going nuts in her room. I captured some of it but can't figure out my camcorder! UGH! I will have it posted by tomorrow night-that is my goal!
On another note, I can't stop biting my nails!! I hate seeing people in public bite their nails and I am the epitome of "the gross nail biter". I was so nervous during the MTB4 finale that I bit one of them to blood seepage! GROSS.
I also seem to have a freakishly messy chaotic household. I swear I do stuff all day long, Gabby is just much faster at making a mess than I am at cleaning one up!
Shaun and I went to Vegas again Sun-Tues and had an absolute blast but I came home to a pigsty of a home. Shauns mom was so nice to watch Gabby for 2 nights!!!!!!!!!! It was our first time away together since she was born. Again, it was fabulous. We stayed at the Belagio again and went to see Mystere. That show blows me away! Incredible and SO worth the money (It is the cheapest Cirque De Solei show). I have seen all of them now, and it is my fav fo sheezy. I know, we go to Vegas way too much. We won't be going anywhere for a bit now.
We won a cruise to Alaska in Sept. but gave it away to Shaun's grandparents instead. We both didn't wanna leave Gabby for that long. Plus, I have already been there.

I am so pissed off because it sucks to be a woman sometimes. Like for instance; I have been working so hard to eat really great and keep up with working out. I lost 5 lbs. I always get stuck at a lame weight that won't budge. I managed to lose the chub I was battling only to gain it back because I looked at (okay, ate) some not so healthy food over the last week (on several different occasions). Why do we gain weight so flippin easy? I hate fat!

Sorry, that was the worst post I have ever done. I just started typing so I'd stop biting my nails!

Gabby posts/videos and Justin Timberlake concert post coming sooooon!

Give me your opinion

So I have been searching the Internet for good plastic surgeons in Utah. I want to get a boob job but definitely not right away. I know I should wait until after all my babies but that could be another 10 years. I am still not even sure of what I'm going to do but I haven't seen any pictures I like....This is a problem! What are some good Dr. anyone has heard of and should I really wait that long to get them done? Ugh, I feel like I have man boobs now days! Yikes. Really, things have gone pretty south and are rather empty. What are your opinions? Do you know anyone who got implants before they were done having babies and regrets it?
Good thing I went private!

Oh shizzzzzz!

Just a quick little note here. I totally pulled a Camie today! I will first off brag a tad about my laundry SKILLZ! I love laundry. I am usually super good. I never make a mistake with drying stuff I shouldn't or mixing colors etc... WELL, today I thought is was about that time to start making the switch to Gab's bigger sized clothes. I have a ton of stuff that I've been collecting. So I threw it all in the wash and went about my duties. I later go to put it in the dryer.....I notice right away that everything even slightly lighter colored is splotched to death with brownish and dark spots! As well as a completely drab horrid color!!!! (SCREAM- brand new clothes ruined!) I will admit that I purchased Gabby some dark brown Juicy Corduroy pants and accidentally turned my wash water on HOT!!!!!!!!!! I ruined some really fabulous things not to mention that cute pink 'bargain' find from TJ's the other day! Oh, I could kill myself! I did rush to the store to buy color safe bleach and try again (after removing the dark pants)

Ugh! :(

Calling all mommies!!! Slightly desperate....

As I sit here at 9:30 PM listening to my 15 month old cry I am feeling frustrated, desperate, and sad. I feel like I do everything I can do to create a comfortable, consistent and fun bedtime routine for Gabby. I devote every minute of my life to her.
I have been experiencing bedtime trauma for the past month or so. I will first and foremost admit that I put Gab down with a bottle....I know, terrible but I was once at my wits ends a long time ago and it did the trick.
Now days, Gabby's bedtime has seemed to slip from 7:30, to 8, to 9 and some times even later than that. I try to put her down earlier, no dice! Crying. She used to NEVER let a peep. I need to take her off a bottle (she won't take a sippy very good) but I'm afraid she'll miss all that fat she needs from milk. SO, back to the point. PLEASE, if your a mom give me your advice on getting your little ones to bed without tears and a fight. Gabby is so fussy lately in the evening. I don't think it is teeth, no new ones and it has been about a month of this.
I know it seems so selfish but I need my free time at night and I feel like I don't have that at all anymore. Gabby needs the sleep and I don't know how to put her to bed. Routines are great, but Gabby won't sit on my lap through one page of a book and she will NOT rock with me unless she is guzzling a bottle. As soon as the bottle is gone, she is flying off the chair. She still takes two naps most days....Could this be the problem? I am pretty much sick of hating bed time along with her. What time do your babies around her age go to bed and how?
Any advice at this point would be greatly appreciated.

I love a good bargain!

I have had nothing to blog about for so long. I still have nothing to blog but I did hit the jackpot at TJ MAXX tonight!!!
Shaun went golfing today (for the 3rd time this week, I won't even go there on fairness!) so, after a fabulous dinner at Cafe Rio tonight he took the baby home, played with her and put her to bed.....and I went shopping!
I decided I NEEDED to go to TJ's to find a cute toy basket for gabby's room. When I got there I accidentally browsed at the clothes and stumbled upon about a hundred pairs (in every size I might add) of fabulous Joe's, Sevens, Rock and Republics, Paige Premiums the whole 9 yards! Jeans galore! Brianna will be proud but I didn't buy any! I did however get me some spiffy new workout clothes for $9.99 each. Not to mention some freakin cute Puma pant thingys for like 16 doll-hairs!!!! Wahoo!
THEN, I stumbled upon the baby clothes! I scored Gab a fabulous pink velour Juicy suit and Juicy dress that is to die for! A $125 dress for $40, I couldn't pass it up! What a ridiculously pleasurable evening I had myself!

Oh, and I did not find that toy basket I really needed :) haha!

I went to the Tim and Faith concert as a last minute thing with my sis-in-law last Sat. It was pretty much off the hook! I used to be a bigger fan back in high school. Now I don't keep up on his music but it was such an amazing show! I had a great time. I promise I did not intentionally focus on Faith's butt. My camera was being soooo slow and I missed her looking down at US! Talk about disappointment. Actually, ALL of my pictures were very disappointing. My battery was like completely dead so I just got what I could. I wanted to make a fabulous little movie of one of his bigger hits....DEAD camera! LAME! Still a fabulous show!

Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger

My new favorite show (well besides all my reality junk) is Healthy Appetite....On the Food Network. She teaches you so much about little secrets of cooking healthy without sacrificing great taste. I have started cooking at home more and I am really starting to like it too.

This, that and the other

I have already tried to post this like fidy times! If it doesn't work this time, forget it! So, again, these are some of the happenings the past month or so. We went to Vegas during the fabulous power outage here a couple weeks back. We swam and shopped and stayed at the Venetian. Good times. Gabby basically loved looking out the huge window of the hotel room. She would just put her little foot up on the window and stare out! So cute. Then we have been doing pig tails lately to change it up a bit....She rips them out in less than an hour so pictures are a must. She also had her very first sucker experience too....Loved it!
We have ourselves a daily disaster in our closet. Gabby loves to pull all my lower clothes off thier hanger! I'm so not a fan of her doing this. She has been falling asleep lately with one leg underneath her and the other day she had this little plastic toy covering her face and her little closed eye peeking through the hole. I had to get a picture of that as well.
