Swinging at the park

I took Gabby to the park to swing for her first time today. She loved it! She was thrilled to feel so big. She would smile when I pushed her higher. I was more nervous than she was. I will be hanging out at the bloomington park all summer. I can't wait!

What do you do all day?

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill or that something serious had happened! He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?" She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?" "Yes," was his incredulous reply. She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it!

self tanner.....

Okay, so truth be revealed via "vacation" photos; I am white! Milky at that. I am looking for a good suntan in a bottle since I refuse to let the sun back into my life. I am a total sunscreen fool now. So, I need your input on self-tanning lotions or sprays. What is good if any? I don't need perfection, I just don't want orange or skin damage.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, here is a picture of my scary legs which I strutted all day long! Having no clue I was translucent! They also gave me the idea for this post. Imagine that!

I'm Baaaaack....From my extravagant weekend!

I am so mad I am having major issues with my posts! I have written a book about my vacation and somehow lost it! I guess all my time away robbed me of my computer skills.
I had an amazing weekend with Lindsey and Heather!
Heather looked amazing at her wedding to say the least! It was a great ceremony and very emotional. I cried like a baby the second she walked out the door. I was so happy for her.
We took Gabby swimming Sat afternoon between wedding stuff. I couldn't get in because that would mean I would have to get ready twice-not happening!
Lindsey and I headed to Vegas Sunday night so we wouldn't have to get up at 4 am on Monday morning....Yep, all you people judging me, I broke the sabbath. I called it a Vacation since it was my first night away from Gabby! Shaun made it 24 hours without me!!!
Lindsey is so funny and such a great friend it was so great to get away with her. We always used to go on road trips in college. We shopped and shopped and ate and ate! Then we went to Zoomanity.....Since I already did a way long post and lost it I am just going to say DO NOT GO TO ZOOMANITY! It is bad news and totally just wrong. I have seen all the Circe De Solei shows and they are incredible. Zoomanity is however disgusting! We only stayed about 30 minutes and realized it wasn't something we wanted to see. We had no idea it was so crazy! So, we felt bummed we wasted $45 to see a show. But at least we got them half price. We went to the room and ordered room-service instead!

Vegas sleepover!!!

Lindsey and I stayed at the Venetian Hotel and lived it up taking full advantage of the robes and makeup vanity to primp for the night!! She wore a salmon colored dress to Heather's wedding and we made a lame joke about the color saying sa-l-mon whenever something or someone was funny. I alomst peed my pants a few times.

By-the-way, her shirt is so not even see-through! I don't know what the deal was! She is going to KILL me! I think the flash really sheer'd the shirt up. Yikes, sorry Linds. I totally would have told her to make another selection for the night had I known....

best part about weddings.....

You fall in love all over agian!!!!

Just some thoughts

Okay so I have a few things on my mind. They aren't the kind of thing you tell your husband simply because he does not care and I hate to make him keep pretending to be interested.
A few things.....
I now find that little voice in my head, you know the one that never shuts up? It is always talking to me in some kind of "blog mode." It is taking over my life! I am a little worried. Last night I couldn't sleep.... I was lying there thinking blog world mode and sure enough I had a dream that I couldn't stay on top of commenting people. Ahhhh! Good thing I am going to be away from the computer for a few days.
Next item of business is how AMAZING those little yellow rubber gloves are! I hope you're all already using them. As for myself, I just discovered how great they are. I had dry and cracked or soggy hands all the time. I wash bottles all day long...Clean my showers occasionally, and scrub nasty toilets. The gloves solved all my problems. I did get two pair, cleaning and bottle gloves. Honestly, I wish someone would have told me about these years ago! I like to clean now! I put my gloves on just to take out the trash.
Lastly, I am saying this with the risk of sounding like a total cheese ball. Most of you already know I am a dork anyway. I just have to give props to Blogger! Because of it I have met new off the hook friends, rekindled old friendships or acquaintances and now I even talk to my close Friends more! I love my little blog bubble! I hope everyone is with me on this one and I don't sound like I am developing a strange blog testimony.

I hope you have a great weekend! You all rock!

Just a reminder- SYTYCD, starts May 24th!

Balls, Books, Box and Boots!

In honor of Gabbys interesting outfit; I just realized that everything in these pictures I took started with a 'b'. I am a genius huh?
I am going to take a moment to give props to my little amazing sleeper......Gab is a fantastic sleeper! Not by chance of course. It took some doing to get her here. For the past 3 months she has been so great!
Cami Gave me the thought to put this out there since her 18 month old is still having trouble at night. So, if any mommies are having problems with their little sleepers give me a shout. I bought a pretty great program that I'll email any of you. It isn't some miracle literature, it just opens your eyes to what you're doing wrong and how to get your baby to sleep through the night (and at nap times) you just have to DO IT.
I swear by it!

First and foremost, I don't know how to do this and I'm not positive I know what a tag even is. With that being said- Emily Tagged me and now here is my list of "5 things about me" (that I haven't already told you)

1. I forget eveything! I'm a total scatterbrain and I can't stand it.
2. I talk to myself (yep, out loud. It is a little embarrasing because I don't realize I do it).
3. I am absolutely in love with the show So You Think You Can Dance! I still have both seasons on my Tivo. I'm talking like I wanna be in the audience one day, and possibly meet the choreographers/judges!
4. I love kickboxing
5. I can make the most incredible gingerbread house you'll ever see!

There is my list, I obviously had nothing to reveal. But now I am supposed to tag 3 people to make a list of 5 things or 10 since Emily did 10???? I don't know! So, when you see your name, make a list.

The Hafen Family
The Yates Family
The Schwartz Family

Does This outfit clash?

So I realize this is quite possibly the most hideous ensemble you have ever seen but I just had to take pictures! I was so excited to put a hat and glasses on Gabby and go to the park. The best part of it all......She kept them both on! I thought for sure she would rip the glasses right off! She did touch them a lot but I think she was digging them.
It is SO not like me to have my daughter not matching, in ugly clothes with a mop top! I do have to say the Wal-Mart dress is pretty stinkin cute though.

Gabby is always giggling so I thought I'd pay tribute to her cute little laugh. I usually don't poke her with a spoon, but I guess she thinks it's funny. Snaps for me- I finally figured this movie thing out.

Not my house anymore.....

My old kitchen......

By Best Friend is getting Married!!!

I had to do a post in honor of my best friend in the whole world, Heather! She is fanally getting married. I have been on her case to get hitched since the day I did. Now that she is I can start on her about babies so our lives will be the same again. I am so excited for her and can't wait! My other bff from college, Lindsey is coming down for her wedding and I am taking them on a hot air balloon ride. Shaun totally made fun of me for doing that but I have wanted to do it FOREVER! And Shaun says he's never go in one of those things so I'm going with my bffs.!! I am so excited!
Yay for heather! Isn't she freakin gorgeous!

Some bunny loves me!

After our swim shoot I got her Easter ears out. (I'm going to frame one of the pics I took and use it as part of my Easter home decor every year). I had to post the ones on her rocking chair because she was just so unsure of what was going on and I think she felt a little taken advantage of or something. Her little faces were so funny. She wasn't exactly loving it. The elephant was especially strange to her, haha. Poor kid.

Swimsuit 07'

Today I played dress up with Gabby and she was eating it up! She loved all the attention I was giving her! She was posing it up then of course she was pooped after an hour. She had a nice long nap today. I actually cleaned my whole house today!!! Of course I'm sure everyone has time to always somehow have their houses imaculate however, I cannot pull it off.
Well, that is all for now as my little super model is saying mama as we speak.

Gabrielle and Navi

I have a friend named Navi who is a month younger than me. She lives behind me . We go on stroller walks and play at eachothers houses (stare at one another......) I have a lot of fun with her. She is a really cute blue eyed babe! We are best friends. Yesterday she came over and my mom took pictures. I laughed and talked and showed off and Navi just stared at the camera in deep thought. Notice I am always standing on my tippy toes, haha.

Love, Gabby

The attempts to stand and crawl......

In the last few days we have finally reached some major milestones! Gabby is getting brave and attempting to pull herself up to stand. She is also attempting to crawl. I say, it's about time. I would guess she it pretty sick or rolling and scooting backwards.

I know I take too many pictures at the same time but it is all too cute to miss out on. These are funny because Gab gets her one little leg caught and she gets really frustrated and just looks at me for help. I love it. She also does the splits!!! I think we've got a future gymnast!
I tried to capture her attempts to crawl and pull herself up. Enjoy!

We can't believe Gabby is already 9 months! She will be 1 year old tomorrow.........If we blink! She has definitely been lots of fun lately as she is learning many new tricks. She now says ma-ma- and da-da, waves hi and bye, pulls up to her knees, and attempts to crawl. She lunges forward and almost has it but falls to her belly.
She also just cut her top 2 front teeth!!! She was really good about it so they must not have bugged her too much. I think I see 2 more on the bottom too!
She is definitely all smiles and so much fun to play with! Things have been so wonderful with her especially with her now taking 2 90 min. naps a day and sleeping from 7 pm to 7:30 every night!!
She isn't the best eater; any advice on what your babies like to eat would be most helpful. Even if I don't know who you are :)
