Why God Made Moms
Answers given by 2nd grade children to the following questions:

Why did God make Mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make Mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are Mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your Mother & not some other Mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your Mom?

2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did Mom need to know about Dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your Mom marry your Dad?
1. My Dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.

1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because Dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.

What's the difference between Moms & Dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home & Dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but Moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got
to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your Mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your Mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2... I'd make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

The girl of his dreams?

I talk too much, I'm not the best listener. But I want to be
I always mean really, really well when it comes to being thoughtful, but sometimes fall short
I'm not organized but my closet is usually immaculate and color coordinated
I am definitely not one to hold a grudge
I waste too much time
I faint easily, I don't listen to my body all the time
My car is always a mess and it really bothers me.
I don't drink enough water
I trust people easily
I forget to breath (deep enough)
I usually cant concentrate on two things at once, I'm really flighty
I'm a pretty good speller
I like to try new things
I am not very coordinated
I am witty
I'm a little too selfish
I surely have the ability to laugh at myself
I'm very level headed

These are not my insecurities, just some of the bad and good I realize about myself.
I do have a lot of insecurities but I've found that if you don't point out what you don't like about yourself 'they' will never know you're insecure to begin with. You can still be very confident with insecurities

I think when I wake up each morning the day is just another day on the battle field.  What will I chose to improve? And will I really work toward it, or just tell myself "I want to lose weight, drink more water, be more motivated, accomplish more in a day, stop swearing, etc.
I feel like I lose my battle more often than I win but I think I've made the most important step by admitting I've got some things to work on!

I thank my husband for being Mr. Patient, Mr. mom (sometimes), Mr. wonderful, Mr. bread winner, and Mr. understanding. I will love him forever.

Because sometimes it's just hard to live with a man

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about. For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box.
When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95, 000. He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be married," she said, "my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll." The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. He thought she had only been angry with him twice in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness. "Honey," he said, "that explains the dolls, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?"
"Oh," she said, "that's what I made from selling the dolls."

A Prayer...
Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man; Love to forgive him;And Patience for his moods; Because Lord, if I pray for Strength, I'll beat him to death, because I don't know how to crochet.

Lets just say, she loves it!

I was at the ghetto toy store by gymboree...naturally! When I saw this I knew Gab would love it so I bought it and lugged it out of the store!  I inflates in like 10 seconds and is a snap to put away!! It keeps her entertained for so long. and even longer when she watches a tv show in it. Not that I let her....
If anyone wants to come and play with us, it's a pretty good time! We may not have any grass, but we move the party inside! Rules were made to be broken right? I just had to post that last pic!!

Shoes and Soap

I don't have much for a new post but I did find a great pair of green shoes at Payless (gasp!!) for only $7. The best part was it was BOGO. So Gabby also got a new pair for like $4! I have to admit, I am such a sucker for Payless when it comes to Gabbers. Their shoes fit sooo great and Gabby seems to like them too. I don't know if they hold up well but Gabby outgrows them far too quickly to tell.
PS, Bri, I tried to get you these same pair for your bday. No luck! They were sold out, I even looked on the world wide web!!
I have had my smelly good laundry soap displayed in my house like this for a couple years now. I love it because it makes my laundry room smell good and it looks kinda cute too!  Try it, you'll love it.  I also like to give something like this as a house warming gift.
Have a great weekend! (mine starts tonight) Yippee!

16 Months

Time has seemed to go by faster and faster each month. I am so lucky to have Gabby in my life, she has taught me many things and uncovered so many feelings I may have never experienced without her.
I have so much fun being her mommy!
I took a few pictures for fun the other day and then that night in my class I learned that I should have been using my flash!!! Dang! Who knew?!

Our Favorite activities

One of my favorite things to do is take Gabby to the pet store! yes, Sue's (dirty) pet castle! Gabby could run around in there looking between the giant glass dog displays for hours on end! I'm sure they love us in return..... At least once a week I pull up in the very front parking space, far be it for me to walk any further than needs be! I come waltzing in with my giant camera and toddler who is there to smear the already nasty glass even more! What could be more fun? Gabby beams and yells doggie at least 5,000 times while saying "oh and eww" in between! This is sure to be one of my favorite memories with her at this age and I think the (horrible quality) pics will explain it from the look on her face! My pictures are all just trials from experimenting with the aperture on my camera. I am having a blast learning how to manually work with it! Note* this in only my second venture with my camera on manual mode* My teacher gave us an assignment to take pics with the lowest ap. the middle ap. and the highest to start learning how lighting (in a round-a-bout way) effects the outcome of the pic. SO, with that being said, some of them are really blurry. I wish I would have chose a plant to experiment with.

I also love to take Gab to the mall so I can let her play on the rides, without putting any quarters in them! Like she knows they move. When she gets bored of them, I'll start putting the money in to make a whole new experience.
