Party like it's 2003

I just ran across our Cabo pictures {pre baby days}.
We went on so many great vacations! I was barely 21 here and Shaun was 23 That is proof that time officially flies! I'll be 27 in August... How is that possible.

Today was one of those days where you stop and think {when you're right square in the middle of kid pandemonium}. How do I do this every single day? I feel like a failure.
Today: Gabby didn't wanna go to swim lessons AT ALL. She locked me out of my bedroom, undressed herself and hopped in the shower with Shaun to hide from me. Cried 90% of the lesson, and proceeded to tell me she wasn't happy with me. She is sick with a pretty bad cough. I didn't want to make her do it, but she had been getting used to it, and was blowing me away with her swimming ability! Don't worry, I'm not about to get all confident and let her swim on her own. I just want her to know what to do if she ever fell into a pool. Stella is also sick. Her poor nose just drips all day long.
Today, I needed this:

Everything Mom
How did you find the energy, Mom
To do all the things you did,
To be teacher, nurse and counselor
To me, when I was a kid.

How did you do it all, Mom,
Be a chauffeur, cook and friend,
Yet find time to be a playmate,
I just can’t comprehend.

I see now it was love, Mom
That made you come whenever I'd call,
Your inexhaustible love, Mom
And I thank you for it all.

Lastly, I am not a cook.

Has anyone heard of these or had them done? I'm dying to try these puppies out but don't think they are available in St George yet?  Please leave me a comment if you know anyone doing them in town. They sound so fabulous and I'd love to hear any feedback if you've had them. I think you can only get them in Northern Utah now?
I am such a sucker for a great looking manicure. I spend too much time painting my nails because they chip and smudge .2 seconds after they dry. I love my nails painted so this sounds like an amazing product.

Also, I got a ticket today which sucked. Why couldn't I have been given the ticket yesterday.  I mean yesterday I looked like I just rolled out of bed and put on the first thing that covered my underwear up (which may or may not have been the case).  It was one of those days where you are just doing laundry and playing catch up after your vacation.  I got up and put in all the effort today. Even got to put eyeliner AND mascara on! Why did I have to get the ticket on a good day? Lame.

Lastly, I am famous for always walking out of the house with tags on my pants/shirts. Today was no exception.  2 minutes after receiving the (alleged) speeding ticket I sat down and started eating my salad...  Torrey had a little birdie {old man} whisper to her that her "friend in the purple had a tag she might appreciate her detaching for me."  What a sweet man.  What an idiot I am over and over again. I always hang new clothes with the tags still on. In turn, I guess I leave them there. I'm pleased however that my new shirt was a good find off the sale rack at U.O. of a bargain of $9.99!  It might be a little tight in the chest region but a voice in my head said, It'll fit you a little better WHEN you lose a few more pounds.  This voice has been repeating that phrase as long as I can remember.  Wonder if the voice will ever say something else like. "Get serious and quit lying to yourself!!!!"
In college I went to school one day {in a new pair of jeans} with a big ol' {size twenty something} sticker running down the back of my knee!  That is so me.  Ugh.  Not only did the guy who pointed it out for me likely get a good laugh. But who knows how many girls were thinking but not telling!
I don't love being one of those frantic mothers who is always just a tiny bit jittery due to always running late and too many things are last minute.

I hope someone gets a laugh at my expense:

You might be a mom if...

You find a sucker stuck to your butt!

Vegas and the Lion King

Yes, this picture is retched of me. It was the best one...
Went back to dark hair!!! The red was awful!
And I love Stella's bow from the WWW expo.

They did a lot of this, Stella chills and Gabby watched airplanes and "airlacopters"

We headed to Las Vegas for a much needed break with the kids and Shaun's family.  It's kind of a tradition at this point, and pretty much a girls trip.  BUT, Shaun is always included if he wishes.
Since I'd have my hands really really full with 2 young kids I wanted him to go so he could take Gabby to Lion King. Stella is just past the age of sleeping through anything and needs her sleep when she wants it. So, I stayed in the room and put Stella to bed before the show even started. I was glad Gabby got to go with her daddy and have a great time.  She was exhausted!! She slept in late the next morning and went to bed last night at 7:30, slept till almost 9 this morning.  She needed to recoup from vacation mode. :)
We also did a little shopping and swimming at Mandalay Bay, which the kids love every year.

6 Months

Who are you, and what have you done with my baby???

Stella is 6 months old (June, 3 2009).
How on earth did this happen?  I can't answer that.

Here's how I feel about you being a 1/2 year old:
Baby come back!  {you can blame it all on me!} Song by player from the 70's... Hopefully you sang it in your head like I did.
I want to hold you as 7 lbs again.
Weren't we just barely up most nights as I stared at how tiny you were and wondering if I could somehow stop the time.
I want another baby just like you.
I keep saying I want to wean you but I won't even try yet. I can't give up nursing you just yet.  I think I'll wait another 6 months?

@ 6 Months You:
Sleep like a champ!!! If you wake up in the night you only fuss for a few minutes tops, then put yourself back to bed.  {I'm in love}
Don't like baby food. I'm totally floored by this one.
Are cracking up all the time at your silly sister who does anything to make you laugh.
Love mommy the most.
Like to be able to see daddy at all times
stop eating if anyone talks to you or me
Pull way up on your hands and lift your head super high.
Look high centered on the floor while you attempt to "move"
Are almost sitting up without props.

5 months old

I can't believe 5 months has come and passed us by in such a hurry.
I still love you more everyday!

@ 5 months you:
Laugh at Gabby constantly.
When Gabby is not home you realize she is gone, and you are not as happy just laying on the floor or in your bouncer.
Sleep much better now days- But I'm not holding my breath... You tease me in spurts.
Weight 17.4 lbs... Which means it is way hard for me to carry you in your rear facing car seat!
Wear 12 or 12-18 mo. Shirts and 18-24 mo. bottoms if they aren't leggings! You are wearing most of Gab's clothes from when she was 11 months and up. I am in disbelief at the belly you're working with.
Are so fun to kiss, hold, squeeze and kiss some more!
Your nicknames are: Gloria, hippo, dough, chunk and Stel.  Grandpa Ken calls you Shaunette. We laugh at gramps!
Are as sweet as sugar!

I sing you the same song every night. Gabby calls it Stella's song and usually requests I sing it to her as well.
She is so happy to have you as her sister.
She says, "Stewa is really so heaby mom"
I love you.
a lot.
